About Me

Lanabird– my blog. It is impossible to tell you how excited I am.  I do hope you come to visit often.  I have been waiting to share so many things with you – gatherings, recipes, home tours, and other going and comings.

Perhaps I should begin by introducing myself.  Lanabird is the blog of Lana Albers.  I am married to Ever-Lovin’. It is the general consensus of opinion among our friends that he deserves stars in his crown because he puts up with all my ideas and me in general.  I guess it is true, but I like to think I add a little excitement to his life. Lanabird is his name for me at times.  Makes me feel warm and loved.  I have always liked it.  It also reminds me of Lady Bird Johnson—a fine lady.  So that is why we chose this name for the blog.

We have three sons.  Yes-My Three Sons!  They are all grown, and live somewhat near by.  I love having them near us.  If we could all live on the same street or have a compound like the Kennedy’s, I would be happy.  But truthfully, I doubt they would.  Hot Rod is my only grandson.  He is growing up way too fast.  I love, love, love him!   Yes, I would like more babies—but I promised not to be too pushy.  Still…

My son Ben is the master behind the blog. Wow!  I am so impressed.  I could not have done this without him.  I thank him for all his hard work, and the work to come.

As a retired elementary school teacher, I still can lapse into teacherese (teacher talk) at any given moment.  Children’s books are a passion.

Retirement is okay.  In fact, it is better than okay.  Now I have time for gatherings, being in the kitchen, going and comings, blog writing and being with Ever-Lovin’.

Planning gatherings and cooking make me happy. Hopefully if I record these events and save them into cyberspace, I will be able to find the menus or recipes when I need them.

Again, I beg you to stop by often.  Do that link to your email thing and let me know what you think.  This is new, so if you notice kinks—Let us know!

Love and Blessings,

Lanabird
