Bridesmaid’s Luncheon

It is my privilege to share the gorgeous and delicious Bridesmaid’s Luncheon Super Sister and her blessed daughter-in-laws gave for bride Jenny and her bridesmaids.  Now you have to realize that SS (Super Sister) lives in the Austin area, and brought a van load of supplies to McKinney, Texas for this luncheon.  Michele’s home was beautiful.   Super Sister called in a couple of her buds to help, and the results were amazing.  Of course you could use these ideas for any luncheon, shower, or gathering with friends.

Table settings:

Fresh hydrangeas and tulips filled crystal rose bowls. They were so pretty we added them to the wedding reception tablescapes.

SS  printed the place cards off her computer, and then Ashley made the  holders from large document clips she got at an office supply store.  Blue scrapbooking paper was glued to the flat surfaces and multi-colored ribbon was the finishing touch.  She says it is easy, and I say it is too cute! We got to bring them home as favors.

Sweet Mother of Pearl, the food was beyond delicious.  I can not begin to tell you.  We were literally licking our plates.

Menu:

Sliced Strawberries with Marshmallow Fruit Sauce– You will love this!  These were served in my Mother’s vintage bowls.  (I think they came out of boxes of oatmeal.)  Mother had a few of these from her mother, and then we collected them throughout the years.  I do love these bowls.

Chicken, Broccoli and Cheese Quiche -Now this is high cotton!  SS created this recipe, and it is the best!

Layered Salad with Pioneer Woman’s Ranch Dressing – Oh, yah!

Sliced Tomatoes for color

Mini-scones from Panera Bakery

Mini-croissants

Cinnamon Bundt Cakes from Nothing Bundt Cakes

Iced Tea and Coffee

Appetizers included two different cheese balls, cheese crackers, cookies, and a fruit punch that was refreshing and wonderful.

Under each mini-bundt cake was a poem attached to a charm.  I think this is a Southern thing, and it is touching.  The charms symbolize Jenny and Nathan’s love for each other.  At the end of the luncheon, the charms were attached to a bracelet.  This is something Jenny will keep forever.

A fitting end to the luncheon was this gift to Jenny and Nathan from the hostesses.  How special is this.  It is a platter inscribed with the love verses  from 1 Corinthians  13.  These are the verses read at their wedding ceremony.  With this type of love – God’s love, their marriage will have a firm foundation.

Most of all I am thankful for the love shown to Jenny and Nathan.  It was an amazingly special day.
