Tea Punch

While out and about today, two of our friends ordered Arnold Palmer’s as drinks with lunch.  As you know, this is the half tea and half lemonade drink that is sometimes called a half and half.  This drink got me to thinking about a tea punch recipe I have.

For years I have made a tea punch that we used to call BUNCO TEA.  It was called Bunco Tea because we loved to serve it when we played Bunco.  DUH!  So recently when we were planning a reception I mentioned serving Bunco Tea.  Beth at the church is an excellent cook, and she is in charge of the kitchen.  She gave me this recipe, which is easier than Bunco Tea, and it is SO good and refreshing.

Since it is spring, and summer is nearly here, I thought I would share this with you.  It is so easy, I’m not sure you can call it a recipe.  To be honest, I seldom will drink instant tea (I know I’m a snob about things like this), but I really, really like this lemony tea drink with the carbonated ginger ale.  Serve it to yourself, your family, your friends, or at your next party.  It will be a hit!

Here is what you need:  Lipton’s Sugar Sweetened Ice Tea Mix, Ginger Ale and Water.  Easy sneezy!

Okay, about the ice tea mix.  It states on the container that it has “natural lemon flavor”.  It is a “sugar sweetened ice tea mix”, and it is “made from real tea leaves”.  Get it?  FYI, this big container makes 38 quarts.  I don’t know if you can find a smaller container, but this is what Beth had.  I got what Beth had because her tea punch was so good, and I wanted mine to be just like hers.  Understand?  Enough details.

You dissolve the instant tea in the water.  When ready to serve, pour the tea over lots of ice, add ginger ale, mix well, and that is it.  Drink and enjoy!

Oh, by the way.  I prefer Sonic ice.  Honestly, Sonic ice is one of my favorite things in this entire world.  Those little ice pebbles from Sonic are just perfect.

Try this recipe.  You will like it, and so will everybody else.  Be prepared to double or triple the recipe.

Blessings to you and yours,

Tea Punch
