Chihuly Nights at the Dallas Arboretum

Have you heard about the Chihuly Nights at the Dallas Arboretum?  Be still my heart!  I have mentioned more than once how much I have enjoyed the Arboretum this year.  The Chihuly glass sculptures in the gardens are breathtaking, but just wait until you see them illuminated at night.

These ferns were Nancy’s favorite.

I love the water lilies.  Just heard a couple of these were damaged during the hail storm tonight.  They were talking about hail last night, and I think they can be replaced rather quickly.  Hope so.

Don’t you love it!

Wow!

The boats amaze me every time I see them.

It was a wonderful evening.  Nancy – my former teaching partner – and her husband Richard joined us on the lawn overlooking White Rock Lake to hear a concert by the band  4 Way Street.  They play music from Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young.  Good music!

To attend the Chihuly Nights exhibits, you must buy advance tickets.  There are concerts on Tuesday and Thursday nights, and the park is also open on Wednesday nights. Try to go if you get the chance.

We spread our picnic supper on Nancy’s quilt (I guess her quilt would be called a Methodist pallet), and we were lucky enough to have a nice breeze off the lake.

Fair warning – your backside does get tired.  If you become a “Friend” of the Arboretum to the tune of $2500.00 you get to sit in a chair at a table.  Must be nice.

How about this picnic.  Veggies with dip, cucumbers and onions, cheese, crackers, pita chips, huge strawberries and blackberries, and smoked salmon.  Life is good.

What a wonderful evening.  We don’t often see the sunset or hear a chorus of frogs (not the band – real frogs) when living in the city.

I am blessed.

Blessings to you and yours,
