Super Nonna

More than once I have mentioned Super Sister.  It is the absolute truth!  There is nothing she can not do or make.  Well, today I am here to tell you that she is also a Super Nonna.

What I am about to show you is one of the cutest things I have ever seen.

Aubrey and Sadie are the two precious girls of Garrett (my wonderful nephew) and Michele (his sweet and talented wife).  The little girls are beyond cute.  These girls love to do crafts with Nonna (Super Sister), and since Super Sister is crafter extraordinaire, they do the most wonderful things and have the mostest fun.

On a previous visit, Aubrey had brought pictures she had drawn of rabbits, and Aubrey wanted Super Sister to make stuffed rabbits like her drawings.  Super Sister made the stuffed rabbits, and the mission was accomplished.  (Super Sister mentioned that making the rabbits out of a knit material was not a good idea because the material was too stretchy.)

The success of the rabbit project was not forgotten.  As soon as they arrived at Super Nonna’s house last week, Aubrey began making plans to make stuffed animals.  With markers in hand, she designed the animals – one for her and one for Sadie.

Aubrey said her picture was not an animal.  I guess it was a “?”.

Sadie insisted that the picture Aubrey drew for her was a Cat/Dog or maybe a Dog/Cat.

Then they were off to Hobby Lobby to buy material.  Aubrey wanted her “?” to be as close to her picture as possible.  When shopping for the arms and legs, she wanted material the colors of the rainbow, and the colors had to be in the correct order.  (This child is smart!)  The material was not to be found, so Super Nonna got some muslin, and fabric paint, and Aubrey colored the material the colors of the rainbow – in the correct order!

The antenna and tails are giant pipe cleaners, and I love the humongous pom-poms on the tips of each one.  While Super Sister was making the “?”, Aubrey decided it needed a bow, and so a bow was added.  Just part of the creative process.  Isn’t the bow beautiful?

When it came time to stuff the “?” and Cat/Dog, Aubrey won the prize.  She is fantastic at filling the animals with stuffing.

Sadie began picking out her material and, Aubrey was content to let her choose material to her own liking.  Thus her animal does not match the drawing as well, but it is so neat that Aubrey allowed Sadie to do her own thing.  I love the ladybug material.

Look at the smiles on their faces.  Priceless!

I do believe Aubrey is destine to be a designer.  After all, she does have Super Sister’s and Michele’s genes.

I told you these were beyond cute.  I am so impressed!  Super Nonna made super wonderful memories with her girls last week. How blessed they are.

Love and blessings to you and yours,

Thanks Michele and Super Sister for the pictures.  Love you!
