Queen of Everything’s Christmas Home Tour

For more years than I can count, a group of friends called “The Buds” have reserved the first Friday in December to go on the Lake Highlands Women’s League Holiday Home Tour.  It is our favorite home tour, and we have visited some take your breath away homes on these tours.  While I was teaching, I have been known to schedule an early morning Dr.’s appointment or take a personal day so I could join “The Buds” on this tour.  Yes, it was worth making lesson plans for a substitute, and that was my least favorite part of teaching.

This year my friend, whom I affectionately deem “The Queen of Everything” because she can do everything extremely well, invited us to brunch before the tour.  Be still my heart!  I tell you the truth.  There was not another house on the tour that held a candle to her beautiful home.  I took over 250 pictures and of course I can not show you all of them, but here is a small tour of her home.  Just know up front, that I have left out some good “stuff”.

As you enter, you are greeted by this Santos.  She is tall and impressive, and I love the pine cones, greenery, and candles.

Queen of Everything (QOE) has her table set for a family tea.  Each year she hosts a tea for her grandchildren, and it is a highlight of their Christmas festivities. (The adults in the family join in the fun also.)  This year’s theme is Winter Wonderland and she is using her gold chargers with these wonderful deer plates.  I think the deer on the plates remind me of German etchings.  The deer napkin rings, and gold and white deer napkins complete the look.

The Chintz Room might possibly be my favorite room in her home.  It is very English, and beautiful.  The little Christmas tree is decorated with tea cups, teapots and other tea related items.

Sweet Mother of Pearl – QOE has a fantastic chintz collection – just perfect for a proper English tea.

Love, love, love this tin calendar that sits on the cupboard shelf.

The nativity set from Bethlehem is a treasure.  What a wonderful remembrance of a visit to the town where our Lord and Savior was born.

Each member of her family is represented by a Byer Choice Caroler.  Love this idea.

The Peter Rabbit Room is every grandchild’s dream room.  Toys are stored in the bags.

I especially love the Peter Rabbit Christmas plates.

Tartan fills the master bedroom.  I like it. I love it.  Ralph Lauren could live here!

Be still my heart.  The tartan on the bedside chest takes my breath away.  Daughter Kristin is as sweet as she is beautiful.

Yummy, yummy  was the brunch.  The menu consisted of breakfast casserole, fruit compote, banana bread, orange juice, and a muffin.  Wow!  And it was all very tasty and delicious.  I especially loved the fruit compote.  It was QOE’s mother’s recipe.  I will try to get it for you.

What I love about Queen of Everything is that she buys top quality name brand collectibles.  This Fitz and Floyd pitcher has so much detail.  Gorgeous!

The Mark Roberts Christmas fairies hanging on the garland above the hutch are darling.  I love their whimsical playful spirit.

Okay, I am running out of additives to describe all the pretty things in this home.  Just know that I think everything is beautiful, wonderful, fantastic, gorgeous….

Christmas has come to this home.  Thank you QOE for sharing your home.

Blessings to you and yours,

Hope you are inspired by QOE’s home.  I know I am.   I am thankful for such a dear sweet friend, and I am proud to know her.  Good friends are a blessing.
