This blog is a little different.  I have good news and bad news to share.  Do you want the good news or the bad news first?

I will share the bad news first. – I always like to get bad news out of the way.

The “Don’t You Just Love a Bargain,” store is closing.  Boo-Hoo!  Sob!  Okay, I am a cry baby!

The Christmas Tree Shops in Addison is closing.  It is distressing.  It is gut wrenching.  It doesn’t seem fair.  You would have thought they could have paid their rent from my purchases. – just kidding.  I love a bargain, and now one of my favorite places to explore is closing.  Sweet Mother of Pearl.  I hate this.  I have found so many bargains in this store.  (Shannon Crystal, Mary Carol dishes, books, paper goods, linens, home decor,  and seasonal decorations….)  The Christmas Tree Shops are kin to Bed Bath and Beyond, and they have always had so many interesting things for sale.  Plus the prices were very reasonable – bargains.   If you go now, everything in the store is 10% off, but you have to go soon.  They are shipping merchandise to other stores. (13900 Dallas Parkway)

On Tuesday April 9, 2013 Ben and Jerry’s is celebrating Free Cone Day. (1501 Preston Road #400, Plano, Texas, but you can go to any location.)  Ben and Jerry’s annual Free Cone Day began in 1979 when they celebrated their first year in business.  Ben and Jerry’s gives away FREE ice cream cones to thank their customers for their support. Yes, you can get a FREE ice cream cone.    If you haven’t been a customer, maybe you would enjoy sampling their delicious ice cream.  I am sure you will return to Ben and Jerry’s in the near future.  The ice cream is seriously delicious.  I like it.  I love it.  Peace, Love, and Ice Cream for all.

And I have even more good news.

April 12, 2013 is National Grilled Cheese day.  Grill cheese sandwiches are getting gourmet treatment lately, but it is hard to beat a classic grill cheese sandwich.  Now, here is the good news.

One of our favorite restaurants, Norma’s Cafe, is celebrating Grilled Cheese Day by giving away FREE grilled cheese sandwiches on April 12, 2013.  Can you believe it?  I love Norma’s Cafe, and their home-style cooking.  Getting a free Grilled Cheese Sandwich is amazing.  (Click HERE to read all about it.)

Remember to save room for pie.  Norma’s pies are beyond delicious – hard to choose a favorite.
