Summertime in Dallas, Texas – It is hot.  It is humid.  It is miserable.

I have a suggestion for you.  Take my advice, and you will feel better – I promise.  Here is what you do.  Head over to one of the Paciugo (Pa-choo-go) locations around town, and savor a cup of cool, smooth, creamy gelato.  You will not be sorry.  You will thank me.  Even D-Magazine proclaims it “The Best Gelato in DFW”.

Number Three Son discovered Paciugo last year, and going there is a treat.  He heard about it, and thought we should go.  Thank you, thank you, thank you!  Now, we do not get to go often since there is not a Paciugo in my neighborhood, but when we do get to go – Sweet Mother of Pearl, it is wonderful.

This is the history from the website:

In 1997 Cristiana, her husband Ugo and his son Vincenzo moved to Dallas, Texas. The Ginattas soon found that what they missed most about the Old World was the wonderful flavors of Italy – the delicious gelati and the dark, rich espresso. They decided that in Dallas, their family’s mission was to share these incredible flavors with their new hometown. In 2000, with a lot of hard work and dozens of new gelato recipes Paciugo (an Italian word meaning “messy concoction”) was born. Over time, Paciugo spread to dozens of locations all over North America. From father to daughter, from the Old Country to the New World – The Ginattas want to share the gelato love with you and your family.

Paciugo has a bazillion rotating flavors.  I do not have a favorite.  Some nights I feel fruity, and on other nights, chocolate, coffee, and hazelnut is what I crave.  With so many choices, every visit is a new experience.

I thought this interesting about how the gelato and sorbet are made.

At Paciugo we still make our gelati and sorbetti the traditional Italian way, with the freshest fruits and all-natural ingredients. The result is a light, unbelievable smooth frozen dessert with 70% less fat than ice cream. More flavor. Less fat. We can’t help it if we got it right the first time.

There are three sizes of cups – small, medium, and large.  In the small, you can choose up to three flavors.  (medium – 4 flavors, large – 5 flavors.)  Yummy!

There are Paciugo locations in all of the upscale areas of the metroplex.  We  noticed a Paciugo location in a CineMark theater recently.  Go to paciugo.com for more information about locations and flavors.

Blessings to you and yours,

Of course Paciugo does not know me.  Just sharing.
