Sheila (AKA as SheShe) made Smokey Pecan Puffs for Stephanie’s shower.  They were a hit.  This would be a great appetizer for your next party.  They are easy, pretty, and delicious.

SheShe was kind and shared the recipe.

SMOKEY PECAN PUFFS

1 pkg frozen puff pastry, thawed

1 egg

1 Tbsp water

1 Tbsp poppy seeds

8 oz softened fat free cream cheese

2-3 Tbsp sherry

1/2 tsp Liquid Smoke

1/4 -1/3 cup finely chopped Pecans

1-2 Tbsp finely chopped onion

Unfold puff pastry; cut into 1-inch squares. Place on parchment paper-lined baking sheets.  For a different look, you can cut the pastry into shapes (stars, hearts, etc.).

Whisk egg and water; brush over squares. Sprinkle with Poppy seeds.

Bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

In a small bowl combine the cheese, sherry and liquid smoke.

Stir in pecans and onions.

Split each square horizontally; spread with 3/4 tsp of mixture. Replace tops.

Your guest will think you went to a lot of trouble, but in reality – these little puffs are super easy.  Plus the fact that you use fat free cream cheese makes you feel a little less guilty when you can’t eat just one.

You can see the little Smoky Pecan Puff on the plate at the center front.  Yummy!

Thank you SheShe for sharing.

Blessings to you and yours,
