Crock Pot Hot Chocolate

I was reminded again a few days ago that the Crock Pot Hot Chocolate recipe wasn’t on Lanabird.  Friends from ADK swore I had not posted it, and they wanted it.  Well, really I did post it, but it is hidden in the English Christmas Tea post.  I thought I would do it justice, and give it a proper blog all its own.  Never mind that spring is here.  There could still be some cool evenings worthy of hot chocolate, OR you can enjoy this delicious recipe during any time of the year.  Excellent Cook Nancy shared this recipe with me.  Thank you so very much!  When I have served this, everyone (well almost everybody) has proclaimed it “The Best Hot Chocolate” they have ever tasted.

To say that this hot chocolate is rich is an understatement.  You combine sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, milk, vanilla extract, chocolate chips, and a pinch of salt in a crock pot.  That is it.  Let it get happy, and you will have the most delicious hot chocolate you have ever tasted.

This “Drink of the Gods” was also served at one of our ADK meetings.  It is these sweet friends that have been looking for the recipe.  Now these are smart ladies, and if they can not find the recipe on Lanabird, who could?  The hot chocolate was transported to the meeting in a thermal pump pot, and that worked very well.  What an easy way to serve the hot chocolate if you enjoy sitting around a fire pit in your backyard.  (If you are like me and do not have a fire pit, we can just sit outside during nippy weather and warm ourselves with this wonderful concoction.)  Come to think of it!  This hot chocolate is fantastic wherever you choose to drink it.

As if it does not have enough calories, go ahead and add a spoonful of whipped cream or marshmallows to your cup of hot chocolate.  If you are going to enjoy the best hot chocolate, you might as well enjoy it with some trimmings.

Blessings to you and yours,
