Table 13

There had been talk.  Friends Carolyn and Minetta had lunch one day (I couldn’t go  boo-hoo) to a new restaurant in Addison, Texas called Table 13.

After Carolyn and Minetta returned from Table 13 they declared, “Lanabird has to go.”  So they began planning a return trip to said eatery that involved me.

Then – Friend BB told me that her sister and friends had been to a wonderful new restaurant in Addison, and she thought we should go sometime.  Guess which restaurant?  Yep!  Table 13.

I love and appreciate recommendations, and two recommendations puts a restaurant high on my “Want to Do” list.

It took a while, but finally we were able to get together again for lunch, and we headed to Belt Line Road and Inwood Road in Addison, Texas to Table 13.

Table 13

The minute we walked through the doors of Table 13 I was amazed.  It is glitzy and is a throwback to the 1960’s Vegas supper clubs.  The entry wall is covered with movie star stills.  The decor is basically black and white with starburst light fixtures.  Very classy.  Now on the walls are pin-up pictures (Girls on bear-skin rugs, etc.). They do add to the ambiance, but….

Table 13

Our friendly knowledgable waiter told us that the restaurant is suppose to have a Vegas supper club feel where the Rat Pack would have entertained.  At night there is live music.  I bet that would be fun.

Now this is a restaurant, and we came to eat.  As an appetizer, we ordered a crab cake.  Delish!  I wish I had ordered one just for me.  See the luscious lumps of crab.  Carolyn, who once lived “back East” and knows good crab cakes, claimed this  the best crab cake she has had in Dallas.  Reason alone to go back.  Seriously!

Table 13

Tomato soup was creamy and had grill cheese croutons.  It was somewhat different than the regular tomato basil soup that is often served in restaurants.

Table 13

Carolyn had ordered “The Fab” (a five cheese grill cheese sandwich) on her first visit, and she knew she wanted to order it again.  Look at the homemade potato chips.

Table 13

In an effort to try more dishes and not eat too much, Minetta and I decided to split our orders.  This is the Iceberg Lettuce Salad with Deep Ellum Blue Cheese.  Good choice.

Table 13

Then we also split the Artichoke Fettucini that had roasted artichokes and garlic plus other good stuff.

Table 13 made me feel I had been to an upscale restaurant that had a fun air to it.  Do you understand?  We were comfortable and at the same time felt pampered.

As always, getting to be with dear friends over lunch is the best.  I love being with them.

Blessings to you and yours,

May you be blessed with good friends.

Thank you Carolyn and Minetta.
