Went to “dead-head” the roses, and had to go back in the house for Trusty Camera. Please bear with me. I have a “thing” for fading flowers. (Gives me hope for my fading years.) After we returned from the trip, and I saw the roses in various stages of blooming – I had to take pictures to share.
How pretty is that? Tahitian Sunset is the name of this rose. When I was choosing roses for the rose bed, a man encouraged me to buy this rose – It was his favorite. I can understand why. The variegated colors amaze me. The blooms seem to be always changing colors just like the sunset.
Even when Tahitian Sunset has lost its luster, I think it beautiful.
The Dolly Parton rose petals also change colors as the rose fades. The edges of the orange red petals begin to change to a deep red.
As Dolly’s blossoms wither the petals darken and almost become ruffles. Dolly has thorns, but is so fragrant.
The different shades of yellow on Julia Child thrills my heart.
Miss Jane told me about Belinda’s Dream. It is filled with delicate pink petals.
Mother of Pearl has is a peachy pink rose that fades to a very pale pink.
Whether I observe God’s majesty at Niagara Falls or see God’s beauty in roses in our garden, my prayer of praise is –
“Worthy art Thou, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for Thou didst create all things, and because of Thy will they existed, and were created” (Revelation 4:11).
Blessings to you and yours,
