Marshmallow Fruit Dip – A+ in Cooking Project

Friend Kim is hosting an 80th birthday party for her mother.  Kim’s mother is amazing.  She still plays tennis each week – in two tennis leagues no less.  (And she looks good in the cute tennis outfits also.)

Kim called, and we discussed her party.  I had a couple of trays to loan her, and she also mentioned she was planning to serve strawberries.  It has been some time since I last shared a recipe from A+ in Cooking (My mother’s excellent cookbook.), and I took this party as an excuse to make the Marshmallow Fruit Dip (page 9) from A+ in Cooking to contribute to the party.  Actually this was one of Mother’s personal recipes, and she enjoyed serving this easy and delicious dip for fruit at gatherings.

The list of ingredients is simple – cream cheese, marshmallow creme, and orange juice.  The recipe calls for 8 ounces of marshmallow creme, but now the jars are only 7 ounces.  It works just fine to use the 7 ounce jar.

Let the cream cheese soften on the counter for a while.

Mix the cream cheese with the marshmallow creme.  Thin to dip consistency with orange juice.  That is it people.  Heavenly!  And did I mention – this dip is delicious.  This is a great do ahead recipe for your party, and the guest will rave about this fruit dip.  Use any fruit of your liking to go along with this dip – melon balls, strawberries, peaches, etc.

I am not usually a fan of marshmallow creme, but in this dip, I love it.

Sorry.  I do not have pictures of the dip on a serving table since I sent it home with Kim.

Happy Birthday to Kim’s mother.  May she have many more.

Blessings to you and yours,
