Welcoming Baby Knox

Posted on: Nov 17, 2014        In: Gatherings        With: No comments

A baby is on the way!  What a joyful time.  Celebrating the upcoming birth of Baby Knox was fun.  The decorations were charming (You will want to pin some of their ideas.), the food was tasty, and Baby Knox got more than his fare share of gifts.

I am amazed at the young girls who hosted the shower.  Only one hostess lived in town, and she had moved into her home just two weeks ago.  The other hostesses had to make long distance plans and then bring decorations and food from afar.  They pulled it off in style and are to be commended.

On the entry table was a chalkboard urging guest to write a note for Mother Sara.  These sweet or funny notes will be available during those times…..that every mother experiences.  What a thoughtful gesture.

Important fact:  My friend Ms. Book Lady was a librarian.  Her influence was felt at the shower.  The “guest book” was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom (One of my all time favorite books.)  We signed the book, and Baby Knox will grow up knowing how many friends and relatives were looking forward to his arrival.  Instead of cards, guest were encourages to bring a children’s book.  I am here to tell you – Knox has the beginnings of a wonderful library.

Lisa from San Antonio brought the decorations.  A garland hung from natural twigs.

I love how Lisa created this garland.  She stitched the circles together on her sewing machine.  How cool is that?

There was no shortage of food for this brunch.

I always love it when pigs-in-the-blanket are served.  I once read that Willard Scott thinks pigs-in-the-blanket are the perfect party food.  He has enjoyed them at casual gatherings and even at the White House.  He says they are always a hit.  I think he might be right.

I told you.  There was no shortage of gifts.  Babies need things, and there were plenty of things at this shower.

Ms. Book Lady has three beautiful granddaughters.  They were at the shower and soon were helping to transport gifts.  They are so cute, and Baby Knox is one lucky boy.  I am sure these three young ladies are ready to spoil him.

Grandmothers-to-be were there to help and share in the celebration.

One bag of gifts was intended to please Daddy David.  I do not think Baby Knox will have a choice.  He will be a Cowboys’ fan.

This scrapbook album was created by Ms. Book Lady.  It contains family pictures, and then there are scrapbook pages for each month of the year.  Sara will only have to insert pictures.  What a keepsake.

It was an enjoyable gathering – darling decorations, good food, and loads of gifts.  We also had a grand time visiting together.

Now we have to wait.  That is the hard part.  Well, I guess labor and delivery is really the hard part for Sara, but for us, we just have to wait.  Looking forward to seeing and holding Baby Knox.

Blessings to you and yours,
