Texas Oncology’s New Building

Sometime during the past six weeks Texas Oncology at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas has moved into their new building.  Yea!

During my routine office visit today, we had our first tour of the new building.  This building has been in the planning stages for years – literally!  I honestly wish I had pictures of the old building so you could see the wonderful changes and understand the enthusiasm for this new space.

We arrived at what is called the lower parking lot.

In the hall, these modern light fixtures got our attention.

The waiting room is large and spacious.

Be still my heart.  Bluebonnet pictures grace the walls.  I like them.  I love them.

See this wide hall?  There are no people sitting on benches.  In the old building, people had to wait in the narrow halls in order to have lab work done.  The area to the right is a real waiting room.

Each nurse has their own larger work station.  I do miss seeing Nurse Nikki, but she is happy taking care of her babies.

Dr. Barve’s new nurse is so kind and caring.  We are enjoying getting to know her.

This was a new scale that was just delivered this morning.  Many people need to hold on to bars when they stand.  This state of the art scale allows them to do this.

Infusion room – a name that brings thoughts of terror to some people.  The new infusion room is soothing and comfortable.  The back wall of windows allows plenty of light into the room.

But the best parts of this new building are the dear people that are there.  These people have taken such good care of me for more than five years.  It is alway a joy to see them.  What wonderful cheerleaders they are.

Kay is so much fun.  All of the staff has loved us, supported us, and given us the best care – even in the old building.  Now it is fun to just be going back for check-ups.

Dr. Barve is so cute and wears wonderful clothes.  She is so smart and she is a fantastic doctor.  Wow!  I am so lucky to have her as my doctor.

She showed me her new office.  Wouldn’t you know that she would have a treadmill in her office.

Her desk chair was like nothing I have ever seen.  It is a ball on a frame.  I bet this has something to do with exercising also.  She is always encouraging me to exercise.  I should.  New Year – I will.

Darlene is also someone that we have known forever.  She schedules the appointments.  Now she will not be my scheduler.  I hate that, but I can still see her.

Not all of the building is completed, but they are working on it.

I am so happy for the staff and patients.  They now have this new building with the extra space and the new equipment.

All of these people have blessed my life.  Many of you have also prayed for me and supported me during these years.  It is hard for me to believe that I have been so blessed.

Blessings to you and yours,
