While out and about yesterday, I saw a wonderful crown. It was simple and rustic, and it had a cross on the top. I did not want or need another crown, since I have several from the Royal Tea I hosted last year. But this one grabbed my heart. I thought I’d buy it, and then decide if I wanted to keep it. I do love it, but what will I do with so many crowns?
Then I thought – Crown Him With Many Crowns. Do you remember this old hymn?
Crown Him With Many Crowns
Matthew Bridges, 1800-1894
Crown Him with many crowns
The Lamb upon His throne
Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns
All music but its own
Awake my soul and sing
Of him who died for thee
And hail Him as thy matchless King
Through all eternity.
I want this to be my anthem this Easter.
Here is what I did on the “entry” buffet.
First order of business was to gather the crowns. Next, some greenery, a candle, and a Bible were added. Easy
Then, I remembered the handmade cross Hospice gave Daddy one Easter. It does seem to complete the picture.
The dining room table is more whimsical. The inspiration for this table began with Peter Rabbit plates that were purchased several years ago at a dear friend’s estate sale. She had an entire room devoted to Peter Rabbit memorabilia. What a joy it is to use these plates in her memory. The table began with layered tableclothes and place mats. We recently saw the off-set place mats at a store here, and loved the idea. Bunnies in an iron tray, greenery, and a mercury glass “gazing ball” (that’s what I want it to be) are combined for the centerpiece. I found the rabbit napkin rings at a garage sale many years ago, and the thumbprint goblets are replicas. Hopefully, there is a feeling of being in Mr. McGregor’s garden
Disclaimer: I am not a photographer, and then when I have to use my phone, the pictures are even worse. Please excuse the fuzzy pictures. I just want you to be able to see this table setting.
Here is an upscale Easter table setting from my good friend Ms. Ralph. I call her Ms. Ralph because she channels Ralph Lauren into her designs. First of all, I love the zebra runner. Then she also layered and offset the place mats. Black floral napkins are tied with mesh ribbon. In the center of the table, is a black tray holding a birdhouse topped with a burlap bow, greenery, and a rabbit. Be still my heart! This is so good looking.
Hope you will be able to piggyback on these ideas for a table setting soon.
Blessings to you this glorious Easter season.
He is risen. He is risen indeed!
