Cream Cheese Icing

Here is the icing I use for Granny’s Sugar Cookies.  It is easy, and do I love cream cheese.  It is so easy to make in the food processor, but not much trouble to mix by hand.  Add the milk one tablespoon at a time until you get the right spreading consistancy.  You do not want it to be too runny. (I am talking from experience here.)  If it is, no problem–just add more powdered sugar.  Now, try not to eat it straight out of the bowl.

Warning!  This icing does not harden like royal icing, and it does not work well when you need to add detail.  I use it when I can ice the entire cookie.  It can be colored with food coloring.   You can also add sanding sugar and candy pearls if that floats your boat.  This icing’s  best claim to fame is that it is yummy!
