We got a call from Number One Son.  “Would you like to come for dinner?”

Sure.  What a treat.  Sweet precious Mikel (Number One Son’s wife) had prepared Slow-Cooker Barbecue Beef. (Or you could call it Crock-Pot Barbecue Beef – Whatever floats your boat.)  The minute we walked in the door, we were greeted with the most delectable aroma.  I had to go to the kitchen and take a look.  I knew it was going to be good.  i couldn’t wait to try it.

Going to visit Number One Son and Mikel is always a treat.  Their home reflects their unique style, and they are good cooks.

One of the most interesting walls in their home showcases their Indiana Jones movie poster collection.  Good looking!

This was the first time we had seen Hot Rod’s new to him piano.  It is the one from the church garage sale.  Doesn’t it look great?  Hot Rod even entertained us with pre-dinner music.

Then Number One Son began shredding the meat.  He used two forks, an honestly, his hands were moving so quickly it was hard to get a picture

Sweet Mother of Pearl.  In the end, he had all the meat ready to put on toasted buns.  The meat was tender, juicy, and delicious.  I liked it.  I loved it.

Ever-Lovn’ likes his sandwich open faced – more meat!

Mikel also prepared these roasted potatoes.  Be still my heart.  They were so pretty – different colors of new potatoes –  and very tasty.  She mixed the halved potatoes with garlic and sliced onion.  Then she drizzle the potatoes with olive oil and roasted them at 425F until they were done – about 35 minutes.  Easy and very impressive.  mikelhotrod

After dinner, Hot Rod retreated to the den for some relaxation.  Then he suggested we have a game night.

He chose the game Qwirkle.  It is a game of mixing and matching that involves some logic.

I lost, but it was still fun.  What an enjoyable evening we had.  Delicious food, and family fun.  I am blessed.

Blessings to you and yours,

Thank you Mikel and Number One Son for a wonderful evening.
