Crescent Tidbits – A+ in Cooking Project

Many moons ago when there was a Main Street Antique Mall in downtown (if there is such a thing) Richardson, Nedra ran the tearoom. With every meal she served Crescent Tidbits.  Tiny delicious puffs of bread.  Often I would wonder what happened to that recipe.  I asked friends that had also been in that mall if they remembered the recipe.  Oh, they remembered eating the Crescent Tidbits, but no one had the recipe.

Sweet Mother of Pearl.  A few weeks ago I was thumbing through mother’s cookbook A+ in Cooking and low and behold – There was the recipe for Crescent Tidbits.  Duh!  Mother included the Crescent Tidbits recipe in her cookbook because she loved eating them.  She even gave me credit for the recipe.  Really!  I felt like a dork.  All these years I have wondered about this recipe, and it was here all the time.

These Crescent Tidbits are super easy, but so memorable.  It is impossible to eat just one, so plan accordingly.

I halved the recipe on this day and only used one can of crescent rolls.

Take the roll of crescent dough.  Leave it rolled up.

Slice the roll into eight slices, and then cut each slice into fourths.

Roll the little pieces in the Parmesan cheese  – no picture because I forgot to roll the dough in the cheese.  The tidbits were still delicious, but they really are better if you use the cheese.  You can do better than I did.

Melt the butter on foil lined (makes cleanup easier) cookie sheets.  Sprinkle parsley flakes, Sesame seeds, and garlic powder (If you want a garlic bread) over the butter.  The recipe does not specify the amounts, but you want to be generous.  You could certainly add any other spices to your liking.

Roll the little pieces of dough in the butter mixture.  If you do two rolls of crescent rolls, you will need two cookie sheets.

Bake for 11-13 minutes.  That is it.  They are s-o-o-o-oo delicious.

Warning – these Crescent Tidbits are addictive.  You can’t eat just one.

I am so glad I found the recipe.  Hope you enjoy!

Blessings to you and yours,
